Are there any hidden costs?
Simply put—no. When you sign a solar agreement with Momentum Solar, our no money down policy means zero up-front costs. During the free consultation, we’ll outline precisely what you can expect to get from our relationship. And with no initial investment on your part, you’ll be able to see immediate savings once your solar system is activated. You won’t even have to purchase insurance coverage—we take care of that too.
Who fixes the panels if there is an issue?
No need to worry if your panels need fixing. An iron-clad product warranty and worry-free maintenance is built into your solar agreement. We’ll keep your system functioning optimally and will monitor it to detect and resolve any issues that may arise.
Will I still be connected to the grid?
When you go solar, there will be times that your system isn’t generating quite enough power—like after sunset. The majority of solar customers remain connected to the electric grid for easy access to power after dark.
What is Net Metering?
The good news is that when your solar panels produce more power than your home can use, the excess electricity is automatically sent back into the grid. The meter actually spins backwards, building a ‘bank’ of credits with your utility company. The process is referred to as “net metering,” and is another financial perk of home solar.
What does the warranty cover?
Your warranty covers all system maintenance, and repairs or replacements, for the lifetime of your solar agreement. We call it “worry-free” maintenance because it’s taken care of at no cost to you.
What if I lose power? Do my panels still work?
For the safety of workers that are fixing power outages, it is a utility regulation for solar power systems to shut off during blackouts if there is a connection to the grid.
Will solar panels damage my roof?
The team at Momentum ensures that no damage will be done to your roof during installation. The method in which we install our racking systems has been approved by all shingle manufacturers, and will prevent water penetration into your home. Rain also helps keep your panels operating efficiently by washing away any dust or dirt.
What happens to my system generation at night?
When the sun goes down, any extra energy you produce during the day is put back into the grid, and it offsets your energy use when your panels aren’t operating as efficiently. During the sunny summer months, your system will produce more energy, and the credits you’ve earned during those days of over-production can carry over during the night or on a cloudy day. This is useful during winter months as well when your system will produce less energy.
What if I want to sell my home prior to the end of my solar agreement?
If you sell your home, you can transfer your solar service agreement to the new homeowner. It’s easy and offers electricity savings, which is a great selling point when your home is on the market.
The Momentum Solar Customer Experience team will walk you through the entire process, but it’s important that you contact us by email at firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone at 732.902.6224, as soon as you decide to sell your home. We have 100% success rate with transferring our leases, and even teach a course to realtors on how to sell a solar home.
How will I know if my solar system is working properly?
We offer 24/7 monitoring to ensure your system is producing the amount of power we projected in your agreement. If there is an issue, chances are we will be able to identify it and fix it even before you realize it isn’t working. We also offer a real-time monitoring system you will be able to access and track.
